Electrophilic Substitutions of Benzene:
Aromatic rings go through electrophilic substitution, for instance the bromination of benzene. The reaction includes an electrophile (Br+) replacing other electrophile (H+) with the aromatic ring remaining intact. Hence, one electrophile changes another and the reaction is termed as an electrophilic substitution.
