Detection and Analysis of Particulate  Contamination:

Microfiltration membranes offer a general way of removing particulate material from fluid streams and are routinely used in a range of analytical procedures to determine particulate contamination in gases and liquids. In common, these methods included passing a representative sample of liquid or gas by a suitable membrane. All particulate matter that exceeds the membrane pore sizes are retained on the surface whereas the contaminants might then be analysed.
