The determination of molecular formula can be taken up once the molecular ion peak is identified and the molar mass determined accurately. In case the isotopic peaks are reasonably intense and can be accurately determined then the molecular formula determination is quite straight forward. For this we could refer to the exhaustive tables that collate the molecular formulae and the corresponding isotopic peak intensities for a given molar mass. Further, knowledge about the nature of the molecule is also useful.
