Analysis of Zinc:

The extensive utilisation of Zn in the procedure of galvanisation leads to considerable amount of Zn within the drinking water and warrants an appropriate method for its analysis. The most favored fluorimetric method for the analysis of zinc also includes the use of the oxine that is 8-hydroxyquinoline along with acetate buffer at pH 6.0, the complex is acquired. In acetate buffer having a pH of 6 the complex is extracted within chloroform and has excitation wavelength of 420 nm. Therefore, Al, Mg and Fe interfere in this method.
