Data Structured System Development
The Data Structured Systems Development DSSD also called the Warnier Orr methodology evolved from pioneering work on information domain analysis conducted through J.D. Warnier. Warnier established a notation for representing information hierarchy using the 3 constructs for sequence selection and repetition and demonstrated in which the software structure could be derived directly from the data structure.
The Ken Orr [ORR 77, ORR81] extended Warnier's work to encompass a somewhat broader view of the information domain which has evolved into Data Structured Systems Development. The DSSD considers information functional and flow characteristic as well as data hierarchy.
