Reduction
Nitriles and amides can be reduced to alkyl amines by using lithium aluminum hydride (LiAlH4). In the case of a nitrile, a primary amine is just possible product. Primary, secondary, and tertiary amines can be ready from primary, secondary, and tertiary amides, correspondingly.
