Reactions of Alkyl Halides:
Nucleophilic substitution
The alkyl halides' nucleophilic substitution is one of the most powerful methods of acquiring a wide range of different functional groups. Hence, it is probable to convert a variety of primary and secondary alkyl halides to thiols, thioethers, alcohols, ethers, esters, amines, and azides. Alkyl iodides and alkyl chlorides can as well be synthesized from other alkyl halides.
