Nomenclature:

Nomenclature is a word which applies to either a list of names or terms, or to consider to something which is a term or to the system of principles, procedures and terms linked to naming-that is the assigning of a word or phrase to a specific object, event, or property. The naming principles change from the comparatively informal conventions of everyday speech to the internationally-agreed principles, rules and recommendations which govern the formation and make use of the specialist terms employed in scientific and other disciplines.

Naming "things" is a part of our common communication by using words and language: it is a feature of day to day taxonomy like we differentiate the objects of our experience, jointly with their similarities and differences that we identify, name and classify. The make use of names, as the several different types of nouns embedded in different languages, connects nomenclature to theoretical linguistics, whereas  the way we mentally structure the world in relation to word meanings and experience links to the philosophy of language.

The scientific requirement for simple, stable and internationally-accepted systems for naming objects of the natural world has generated several formal nomenclatural systems. Possibly the best known of these nomenclatural systems are the 5 codes of biological nomenclature which govern the Latinized scientific names of organisms.
