Whenever inductive and capacitive parts are used in an AC circuit, the calculation of their effects on the flow of current is most important.

 DEFINE impedance (Z).

Given the values for resistance (R) and capacitance (C) and a simple R-C series AC circuit and CALCULATE the impedance (Z) for that circuit.

Given a simple R-C-L series AC circuit and the values for resistance (R), inductive reactance (XL), and capacitive reactance (XC) and CALCULATE the impedance (Z) for that circuit.

STATE the formula for calculating total current (IT) in a simple parallel R-C-L AC circuit.

Given a simple R-C-L parallel AC circuit and the values for voltage (VT), resistance (R), inductive reactance (XL), and capacitive reactance (XC) and CALCULATE the impedance (Z) for that circuit.
