Write a short note on oracle Instance?

Oracle Instances: An instance is the (executed) Oracle software and the memory they use. It is the instance which manipulates the data stored within the database. It can be begin independent of any database. It consists of:

1) A shared memory area which gives the communication among several processes.
2) Upto five background processes that handled several tasks.
Whenever an oracle examples starts, the file ‘INIT.ORA' is executed.
