Write a brief note on report presentation.
Answer
Presentation has become an integral part of most marketing research projects. Most managers are finding it hard to read entire report and so prefer the researcher to present the report in an oral presentation. Moreover, presentation provides an opportunity for research and management team to interact the issues of concern and in that manner it becomes a vital exercise.
For any presentation, the most significant aspect is preparation. Researcher must first develop an outline of presentation keeping the audience in mind. Once outline is developed, researcher must focus on content management and decide as to what is important and relevant and what is not. Use of various audio-visual aids as well as other materials like flipcharts or chalkboards must be planned out in advance. When audio-visual presentation adds to overall engagement, chalkboards and flipcharts offer flexibility in presentation.
Rules regarding what to do and what not to do when writing reports also apply to the presentation and researcher should keep in mind that presentation is being done for managers to grasp the results. Researcher should remember that research was conducted for assistance in decision making and wasn't a statistical exercise. Thus, focus of the presentation must be on how the research can help managers in making a better informed decision.
