Working of Editor and debugger:
Editor/Debugger, or commands can be typed from Command Window. For illustration, the dbstop command below will set a breakpoint in the fifth line of this function (that is the action of the if clause), that allows us to type the variable names and/or expressions to examine their values at that point in the execution. The dbcont function can be used to carry on the execution, and dbquit is used to quit the debug mode.
Note that the prompt becomes K>> in the debug mode.
>> dbstop testifelse 5
>> testifelse(-2)
5 disp('In middle of range')
K>> x
x =
-2
K>> 3 < x
ans =
0
K>> 3 < x < 6
1
K>> dbcont
In middle of range
end
>>
By typing the expressions 3 < x and then 3 < x < 6, we can conclude that the expression 3 < x will return either 0 or 1. Both 0 & 1 are less than 6, therefore the expression will always be true, despite of the value of x!
Nested Structures: The nested structure is a structure in which at least one of the members is itself a structure. For illustration, a structure for the line segment may co
Operation on file: We concentrate first on the fgetl function that reads strings from the file one line at a time. The fgetl functions afford more control over how the data is
Functions which return Values versus printing: Also, the function which computes and returns values (throughout the output arguments) does not generally print them; that is le
Persistent Variables: Generally, whenever a function stops executing, then the local variables from that function are cleared. That means that each and every time a function i
Advanced File Input and Output: In that section, we saw how to read the values entered by user using the input as well as the output functions disp and fprintf, that shows inf
Editor/Debugger: The MATLAB has numerous useful functions for debugging, and debugging can also be completed through its editor, which is known as the Editor/Debugger. Typi
Illustration of Binary search: An illustration to search for the key of 91 in the vector is as shown below: The table below shows what will happen in each iteration of
Representing Logical true and False: It has been stated that expressions which are theoretically true really have the integer value of 1, and expressions which are theoretical
Example of Mode When no value appears more often than any other, the smallest value in the vector will be the mode of the vector. >> shortx = [2 5 1 4]; >> mode(shortx
Polynomials: Simple curves are polynomials of various degrees, or orders. The degree is the integer of the highest exponent in the expression. The illustrations are as follows
