Q. Working of Burner Assembly in steam generators?
The Steam Generators shall be equipped with a packaged burner assembly consisting of a burner, combustion air fan, ductwork, TEFC electric motor drive, and flame safeguard safety equipment.
Burners shall be low NOx type and shall be complete with electric igniter of the high spark generator type, and pilot nozzle rated to burn natural gas on an interrupted basis.
The minimum turndown ratio when firing the various gaseous fuels shall be 3:1. The burner shall carry out complete and efficient combustion throughout the turndown range using a minimum of excess air.
Unproven designs shall be reduced scale cold flow modelled to ensure operation is acceptable over entire operating range.
Adequate provision shall be made for the location of flame monitoring equipment. A single Honeywell flame scanner system shall be furnished.
It shall be the Vendor's responsibility to ensure that vibrations caused by the combustion process, or any structural resonances are at or below 0.5 mils pk/pk.
Burner nozzles and other parts exposed to radiant heat of the furnace shall be made of suitable heat resisting alloy steels.
Burner shall have the facility for flame shape adjustment. Vendor shall provide details of this facility. Optimum expected flame size should also be stated.
Predominant flame related vibration frequencies should be defined by the Vendor. Resonance checks of these frequencies against structural resonances shall be conducted by the Vendor.
