Will a DC motor actually produce voltage if it is spun in reverse?
It'll make voltage if you spin it forwards, too. The only difference among a DC motor and a DC generator is what you use it for.
A long time ago, cars had DC generators on them instead of AC alternators. When you changed a generator, you had to "polarize" it so it would make electricity. You hooked it up to your battery and let it run, as a motor, for a few seconds. Don't try that with an alternator because you'll break it.
If you're looking for a neat little elementary-school science project, you can use little Radio Shack electric motors as generators for things such as windmills, water wheels, dynamos turned by bicycle tires..
a. Describe the radiation resistance of an antenna. b. With sketch, explain the feed mechanism of a parabolic reflector c. Explain the given term:- (i) Horn Antenna (ii
(a) Two 40 g ice cubes are dropped into 220 g of water in a thermally insulated container. If the water was initially at25°C, and the ice came directly from a freezer at -15°C,what
Radiation and Radioactivity Investigator of radioactivity discovered that certain natural elements, primarily the very heavy ones, have unstable nuclei that disintegrate to emi
Which of two, namely potentiometer and voltmeter is preferable to calculate the emf of a batter? Why? When is the series combination of cells advantageous and why?
Differentiate between displacement current and conduction current.
Lenz's law (H.F. Lenz; 1835): An induced electric current always pass in such direction that it opposes the change generating it.
The thrust developed to propel the jet ski shown in Fig is a result of water pumped through the vehicle and exiting as a high-speed water jet. For the conditions shown in the Fig,
what is the angle of incidence when the refracted and the reflected ray are parallel to one another? does this angle depend on the wavelength of light? Ans) The angle of inciden
A charge is said to be in equilibrium, if total force performing on it is zero. A operation of charges is said to be in equilibrium if every charge is independently is equilibrium.
