Tentative treatment planning

Once the initial data has been analyed and comprehensive diagnosis and charting of the condition of the mouth has been done, you should formulate a treatment plan. There may be more than one approach to a problem. Therefore, alternative treatment plans other than implants also needs to be discussed with the patient with the pros and cons of each explained in detail.

Treatment Planning:

 Evaluate bone quantity, quality

 Prosthetic modality and design

a. Number of Implant

b. Implant type (one stage/two stage, threaded/non threaded, diameter, length)

c. Location of implant placement

d. Relation to crestal bone Material of prosthesis, occlusion scheme and loading protocol
