What is the meaning of Cardiovascular System ?

The cardiovascular system takes care of the distribution of gases, nutrients, hormones, immune elements, and the removal of wastes in the human body. The name cardiovascular comes from the Greek kardia, meaning heart, and vascular, which means pertaining to blood vessels. The heart pumps blood through blood vessels to the lungs in pulmonary circulation, and to the rest of the body in systemic circulation.
