Assignment Help:

What is the hardness of water? How is it expressed?

Hardness is the property of water which stops lather formation with soap. This is because of the presence of certain salts of calcium, magnesium and other heavy metals dissolved in water, mainly because of the dissolved impurities like bicarbonates, chlorides and sulphates of calcium and magnesium.
