SEGMENTATION HARDWARE
An execution to map two-dimensional user-defined addresses into one-dimensional physical addresses. This mapping is affected by means of segment table. Every entry in the segment table has a segment limit and a segment base. The segment base contains the starting address wherever the segment resides in memory, while the segment limit specifies the length of the segment.
A logical address concise of two parts: an offset and a segment number,s into that segment, d The segment number is utilized as an index to the table. The offset d of the logical address ought to be between 0 and the segment limit. The segment table is basically an array of base-limit register pairs.
Q. Consider a system in which a program is able to be separated into two parts: code and data. The CPU recognizes whether it wants an instruction (instruction fetch) or data (data
You must use fork and pipe to complete this project. This project creates processes to add all numbers in a file. The user will enter a number (1, 2, or 4) of parallel processes
Processes and threads each have their place in multi-programming, generally to hide latency and to maximize CPU utilization. With the continuing spread of multi-core processors in
