What is Suturing technique
A suture is the type of binding, used to hold skin, internal organs, blood vessels and all other tissues of the human body together, after they have been severed by injury or surgery. Establishing non-tension primary wound closure of various soft tissue flaps is paramount for optimal postsurgical wound healing. Surgical procedures that require clinical flap manipulation such as those used with traditional periodontal therapy, periodontal plastic cosmetic surgery, hard- and soft-tissue regeneration, and the excision of pathologic tissue also require excellence in execution and thorough understanding of the various techniques of surgery, suturing, and the materials currently available to ensure the desired clinical results. In oral implant logy varying techniques of raising flaps or even flapless techniques (No suturing required) are followed and there are situations wherein suturing is required in areas adjacent to teeth or in large edentulous spans , over implants or around implant components. The hermetic closure of the tissues without tension is critical and it is important for you to develop and practice these skills which enhance the success of implant based treatment.
