What is sheltered instruction?

Sheltered instruction is a way to teach the learners of English language. It serves a dual purpose of facilitating the English language learners to pursue their curriculum while at the same time increasing their proficiency in English language. The way this approach works is that it modifies the content material of their course (visual aids, graphs etc) to make it more comprehensible for English language learners and at the same time the content is such that it also helps in making the learners confident in using English language terms.
