What is  Raster Scan Display

A raster scan display device using CRT on the other hand directs the electron beam across the screen, one row at a time from top to bottom. In a raster scan display device, the screen is assumed to consists of a two-dimensional matrix.  Remember that the term raster was used for a 2-D matrix. Each point of the screen corresponding to a matrix element is called pixel (picture element) as shown in Figure
