What is quick sort?
Answer
Quick sort is one of the fastest sorting algorithm used for sorting a list. A pivot point is chosen. Remaining elements are divided or portioned such that elements less than pivot point are in left and those greater than pivot are on the right. Now, elements on the left and right can be recursively sorted by repeating algorithm.
Q. Write down the algorithm for binary search. Which are the conditions under which sequential search of a list is preferred over the binary search?
We might sometimes seek a tradeoff among space & time complexity. For instance, we may have to select a data structure which requires a lot of storage to reduce the computation tim
Write a program that uses the radix sort to sort 1000 random digits. Print the data before and after the sort. Each sort bucket should be a linked list. At the end of the sort, the
As we talked in class, a program with two integer variables is universal. Now, we consider a special form of four variableprograms. Let G = (V; E) be a directed graph, where V is a
1) Why space complexity is comparatively more critical than time complexity? 2) Determine the space complexity of Euclid Algorithm?
Given a list containing Province, CustomerName and SalesValue (sorted by Province and CustomerName), describe an algorithm you could use that would output each CustomerName and Sal
Generally, Computational complexity of algorithms are referred to through space complexity (space needed for running program) and time complexity (time needed for running the progr
Implementation of queue using a singly linked list: While implementing a queue as a single liked list, a queue q consists of a list and two pointers, q.front and q.rear.
Define the term counting - Pseudocode Counting in 1s is quite simple; use of statement count = count + 1 would enable counting to be done (for example in controlling a repeat
