Assignment Help:

What is Pythagorean Triples?

A set of three numbers a, b, and c that can satisfy the equation

A2+b2= c2,

is called a Pythagorean triple.

The following is a list of some Pythagorean triples:

n is any natural number (n= 1,2,3)

Example 1: Given a right triangle, where a=6 and b=8, find side c, using Pythagorean triplets. If you factor 2 out of 6 (2 x 3) and 2 out of 8 (2 x 4), you get 3 and 4. These results are part of the Pythagorean triplet (3, 4, 5).  The 3 sides match the triplet (3, 4, 5) by a multiple of 2.
c = 2.5=10.

Example 2: Given a right triangle, where a=15 and c=39, find b, using Pythagorean triplets. The greatest common factor in 15 and 39 is 3. Factor 3 out of 15 and out of 39, giving you 5 and 13.  5 and 13 are part of the Pythagorean triplet: (5, 12, 13). The missing number is 12 multiplied by 3.
B= 3.12 =36
