What is osmotic diarrhoea, Biology

Assignment Help:

Q. What is Osmotic diarrhoea?

This kind of diarrhoea is caused by the presence of osmotically active substances in the intestinal tract, which in turn, favour the drawing of large volumes of water in the gut e.g. diarrhoea associated with lactose intolerance (sugar lactose is not digested due to lack of enzyme lactase in the intestine), dumping syndrome (multiple symptoms related to removal of part of stomach).
