What is Lymphatic System in human biology?

The lymphatic system maintains fluid balance and serves in protecting the body from disease. The primary organs of the lymphatic system are the lymphatic vessels that make up the lymphatic network. The secondary organs are the lymph nodes, spleen, thymus gland, tonsils, and Peyer's patches. The organs of the lymphatic system are vital in the immune response, the body's defenses against foreign pathogens.
