What is Infra-diaphragmatic Type of TAPVC?
Initial stages of operation are the same as for supracardiac type of TAPVC. The heart is lifted out of the pericardial cavity and common pulmonary venous channel and inferior vertical vein identified. At times the inferior vertical vein is doubly ligated and divided for achieving an anastomosis without tension. Posterior part of left atrium is opened and wide anastomosis is made. At times the inferior vertical vein is left open.
