What is function count, Software Engineering

Function count:- It measures the functionality from the user point of view, that is, on the basis of what the user requests and receives in return. Therefore it deals with the functionality being delivered, and not with the lines of code, source modules, files etc. measuring size is in this way has the advantage that size measure is independent of the technology used to deliver the function.
