Assignment Help:

What is Endocrine System explain ?

The endocrine system consists of glands, organs that secrete hormones. Endocrine glands are tissues that produce secretions within the body, as opposed to exocrine glands, such as sweat glands and sebaceous glands, which produce secretions through ducts to the outside of the body. The endocrine system contains the pituitary gland, the thyroid gland, the adrenal glands, the pancreas, the gonads, the pineal gland, and the thymus gland. Whereas quick responses are brought about by the nervous system, most of the long-term control of the body is carried out by the endocrine system. For instance, growth rates, metabolism, water and mineral regulation, and reproductive processes are controlled by the endocrine system.
