What is competitive inhibition, Science

Assignment Help:

Competitive inhibition

This  type of inhibition takes place when  a  compound having  a strong structural resemblance to the substrate competes with  it for the catalytic  site of  the enzyme. Once  the  compound binds, the enzyme cannot convert  the  inhibitor  to  products. Increasing substrate concentration, however,  is capable of displacing the  inhibitor.
