Q. What is Coating Thickness?

The dry thickness of the coating shall be checked by using a "micro test" magnetic gauge or approved equal which has been properly calibrated, at least once per eight hour shift, to the approximate thickness of the coating. A minimum of five (5) measurements, randomly distributed along the length of each joint of pipe, shall be made with notation of the minimum, maximum and predominant thickness measured.
