What is Centrioles in cell structure?
Most cells of higher organisms contain pairs of cylindrical bodies called centrioles, which help to organize microtubules in cell division. The centrioles are essentially identical to the basal bodies found at the base of cilia and flagella in eukaryotic cells.
Certain plant cells do not contain centrioles. Examples of plants whose cells do not contain centrioles are flowering plants, pines, and their relatives, and some unicellular organisms.
