What is Asynchronous Reset?

Asynchronous reset:

The biggest problem along with asynchronous resets is the reset release, which termed as reset removal. By using an asynchronous reset, the designer is guaranteed not to have the reset added to the data path. Other advantage favoring asynchronous resets is which the circuit can be reset along with or without a clock present.
