Writing Editorials

What's an editorial?

Most newspapers and news magazines, as well as online news services and broadcast news programs, contain editorials: here, the publication's editors put forth their official positions on issues of the day. They will endorse political candidates, advise legislators on how to vote on bills, comment on a public servant's behavior, offer opinions about the environment, and so on. The editorials are presented as a public service, in that they stimulate thought and debate about the news.
