What is a light Guide?

While a number of single fibers are grouped together to create a larger diameter light conductor the resulting structure is termed as a light guide. Occasionally large diameter solid core fibers are also known light guide.

Light guides can come in several forms and finished, clad along with a number of various polymers rigid tubes, articulated anaconda kind flexible metal coverings and heat shrink tubes.
