What does Balanced Diet means
Balanced Diet means diet which contains a variety of foods in such quantities and proportions that the need for energy, proteins, vitamins, minerals, fats, carbohydrate and other nutrients is adequately met for maintaining health and general well being. Food contains many constituents for the growth and maintenance of the body. These constituents are called nutrients.
The essential nutrients are:
- Carbohydrates
- Proteins
- Fats
- Vitamins
- Minerals
- Roughage
