What chemical is used to test for the presence of co2, Biology

Assignment Help:

What chemical is normally used to test for the presence of carbon dioxide?

What is the result of the test if carbon dioxide is present?

a) Lime water is used to test for carbon dioxide.

b) If carbon dioxide is there, the lime water goes 'milky'.

Note: pH indicators, like as hydrogen carbonate indicator are sometimes used to detect carbon dioxide, but they are not particular for this gas. Anything which enhanced the acidity of the indicator would produce a colour change.
