What  are  universal  gates.  Construct  a  logic  circuit  using  NAND  gates  only  for  the expression x = A . (B + C).

Ans. Universal Gates: NAND and NOR Gates both are termed as Universal gates. The AND, OR, NOT gates can be understood using any of such two gates. The whole logic system can be implemented through using any of these two gates.  Such gates are simple to understand and consume less power than another gate.
Construction of a logic circuit for given expression X = A (B + C) by using NAND gates is demonstrated in figure below:
