Two types of exchange signify extremes in a spectrum of exchange transactions. In industrial societies market exchanges have tended to dominate commercial transactions, Hence recently there has been a substantial movement towards relational exchanges. Or we can say a mixture of exchanges occurs, and every organisation has a portfolio of differing types of exchange that it maintains with different customers, suppliers and other stakeholders.
