What are the properties of ultrasonic waves, Physics

Assignment Help:

What are the properties of ultrasonic waves?

Properties of Ultrasonic Waves are as follows:

a. Ultrasonic waves are acquiring frequencies higher than20 KHz and therefore they are highly energetic and their wavelengths are minute.

b. Because of their small wavelengths, the diffraction is negligible. Therefore, they can be transmitted over a long distances without any considerable loss of energy.

c. While they are passing by a medium, at discontinuities, they are partially reflected and that property is used into Non-Destructive Technique (NDT).

d. While the ultrasonic wave is absorbed through a medium, this generates heat.

e. They are capable to drill and cut thin metals.

f. At room temperature, ultrasonic welding is probable.

g. They mix molten metal of extensively not same densities to produce alloys of uniform composition.

h. By using ultrasonic wave, acoustic grating can be formed within a liquid.
