Q. What are the main human diseases caused by fungi?

The major human diseases caused by fungi in immunocompetent patients are , blastomycosis, histoplasmosis, paracoccidioidomycosis, or South American blastomycosis, sporotrichosis, coccidioidomycosis and onychomycosis (nail mycosis).

In immuno-deficient patients, moreover the diseases mentioned above, other fungal diseases like systemic aspergillosis, cryptococcosis, candidiasis and other opportunistic diseases can occur.
