What are the important terms of the 1948s factories act?
Important Terms of the Act:
(1) Factory: A place wherein ten or more persons are working and in which a manufacturing process is going on using electricity, steam, oil, etc.
(2) Manufacturing Process
(3) Worker: Worker implies a person utilized directly or by any agency.
(4) Adult: A person who has finished 18th year of age.
(5) Child: A person who has not finished his 15th year of age.
(6) Power: Electrical energy or any other type of energy that is mechanically transmitted and is not produced by human or animal agency.
(7) Machinery: This comprised
- Main movers, motor, engine, etc
- Transmission machinery, drum, wheel, shaft, belt and pulley etc.
- Another appliances whereby power is produced and transformed as well as transmitted.
(8) Occupier of Factory: People who have eventual control over the affairs of the factory and here said affairs are entrusted to a control agent; all agents will be taken as the occupier of the factory.
