Ans: The Disadvantages of File-Processing System

a. Data redundancy and inconsistency - Data redundancy means not necessary duplication of data. In file processing systems, the information might be duplicated in various places (files) because of the different structure. This duplicity leads to higher storage access cost. Additionally, it may lead to data inconsistency, means the several copies of similar

b. Difficulty in accessing data - The conventional file-processing environments does not permit required data to be retrieved in convenient and well-organized manner

c. Data isolation - As data are scattered in several files and may be in dissimilar formats, writing new program to retrieve the suitable data is difficult.

d. Security problem - In file processing system. Enforcing security constraints is hard.
