What are the different approaches for database design?
There are two basic approaches for database design which are as follows:
Attribute driven: It compiles a list of attributes relevant to application, and normalizes the groups of attributes which preserve functional dependencies. Entity driven: It discovers entities which are meaningful to application, and describe them.
Explain the Cartesian product: The Cartesian product operation does not need relations to union-compatible. The meaning of this is that the involved relations may have dissim
Draw an EER diagram that captures the "is-a" hierarchy of students in another simple database. The database captures both the "basic" information (say, student ID and student name)
Define data model? A data model is a collection of conceptual tools for explaining data, data relationships, data semantics and consistency constraints.
Shared lock or Read Lock It is requested by a transaction that needs to just read the value of data item. A shared lock on a data item does not permit an exclusive lock

Depending upon the rules we have found, we can classify the locks into two types. Shared Lock: A transaction might be acquiring shared lock on a data item in order to read it
Saving Derived Attributes to Avoid Re-computation Data that is derived from other data should be stored in the computed form to avoid re-computation. For this, we could define
