Q. What are the Chemical Properties of Ammonia?
Ans.
Combustion: Ammonia does not burn in air but will burn in pure oxygen to form nitrogen and water vapor.
4NH3(g) + 3O2(g) -> 2N2(g) + 6H2O(g)
Reaction with copper(II) oxide: Ammonia gas reacts with hot copper(II) oxide to form pure copper, water and nitrogen.
2NH3(g)+ CuO -> Cu + 3H2O + N2(g)
Co2 is isostructural with: (1) SnCl 2 (2) So 2 (3 ) HgCl 2 (4) All the above ans: HgCl 2
