Q. What are the Causes of constipation?

The most common causes of constipation are poor elimination habits, a lack of fibre in the diet, insufficient fluid intake, lack of exercise and a loss of lone in the intestinal musculature. Apart from these, chronic overuse of laxatives, nervous strain and worry are also some common causes. The causes can be classified under two heads - systemic and gastrointestinal.
