The benefits of using WBS (work breakdown structure):

a. It can be used to assign and delegate responsibility to assist accomplish various tasks or activities for example control by greater accountability.

b. This can assist sequence and schedule the timing of various events to enhance effectiveness of how time is allocated for example the most efficient series of accomplishing activities can be understood.

c. This enhances resource planning and the effectiveness of how resources are consumed for example accurate forecasts for project staffing to keep cost.

d. It can be used as an origin of financial ‘exception reporting’ for example actual verses budget cost allowances, as well as also forecast more precisely the project costs.

e. It can be used for risk management for example to classify risks, and used as an ongoing process for observing risks for a project.
