What are the benefits of Soil testing

Soil testing is done to assess the nutrient supplying capacity of the soil. The data obtained as a result of  testing is useful for recommending the type and amount of fertilizer and other additives for improving crop production.  This tells the fertility levels of assessed area. On the basis of soil test values of available nutrients,  N  P  K, the soils are grouped into classes as low, medium and high.
