Q. What are rules for working of Dip lorries and their protection arrangements on a single line section explain with sketches?

Ans.-Rules for working of Dip lorries -

i. Subject to their being certificate comp lent the all inspectors of engineering and signal and tele communication departments are permitted to us Dip lorri.

ii. No Railway servant shall use a lorry unless he is in a possession of a permit.

iii. The permit will only be issued after examined and valid for a period of one year.

iv. Each Lorry must have marked on it the number designation and code initials of the HQ.

v. Whenever lorry be placed on P.F. for loading on a train it should be placed paralleld to the Track.

vi. Lorry shall always be pushed and not pulled.

vii. When ever a lorry has to work within station section the PWI will advise the station master in writing.

viii. A lorry may be worked with out block protection when the PWI before putting a lorry on the line has as certained from the station master on duty.

ix. When the PWI intents to place the lorry on the line in mid section he shall issue a message on field telephone to the Station Master.
