Assignment Help:

What are Factors?

When you multiply several numbers together,

(4 x 5 x 3),

the numbers (4, 5, and 3) being multiplied are called factors. The result of the multiplying these factors, 60, is called the product.

When you divide one number by another,

(25 x 5),

the number being divided is called the dividend, and the number doing the dividing is called the divisor. (In the above example, the dividend is 25 and the divisor is 5.) The result of the division, 5, is called the quotient.
