What are delay systems in telecommunication networks?

Delay System: A class of telecommunication networks like data a network that places the call or message arrivals in a queue in the lack of resources, and services them like and while resources become available. Servicing is not taken up till the resources become available. These systems are termed as Delay Systems. Delay Systems are analyzed by using queuing theory that is sometimes termed as waiting line theory.

Delay Systems in telecommunications are as follows:

  • Message Switching
  • Packet Switching
  • Digit Receiver access
  • Automatic Call distribution
  • Call Processing
